St. Jude Catholic School prides itself in being a school in which staff and community members continually work to develop students’ personal environmental practices and ecological knowledge in order to help foster environmentally responsible citizens. Not only is the ECO Schools initiative beneficial for the school community, it is also supports the overall greening and sustainability efforts of our surrounding communities.
We strive to reduce our ecological footprint at the school level in many ways and across all grade levels. Students and staff work to reduce paper use by reducing paper waste and by reusing paper products. Proper recycling techniques are emphasized with a continued focus on maintaining school greening projects within the school yard. Students continue to expand their ecological literacy by being exposed to cross-curricular lessons with an environmental focus in all subject material. Students are learning and growing as children of Christ and as environmental stewards of the earth.
